Available synopses identify this group as a "coven" operating in Man-Thing's swamp. From the scant information we have read, it seems this is probably a coven of Wiccans and not a coven of actual magically-powered witches. But we would need to read the story to verify this. The coven was first seen in the Man-Thing story in Marvel Comics Presents #3 and all died in the same story, apparently as a result of their conflict with Man-Thing. Man-Thing was in a mutated state during this story, so it is possible that his normal tendency to only destroy villains was off kilter during this story, but it is also possible that the members of this coven were genuinely evil.
