Filene Abdol's husband Ahmet Abdol was the villainous "Living Monolith", who led the Cult of the Living Pharaoh. Filene's own daughter Salome was a follower of this religious group, but Filene herself was not. Possibly Filene's husband formed the religious group only AFTER she was killed. But Ahmet Abdol, an archaeologist, had certainly been intensely interested in ancient Egyptian religion and culture for a long time, long before his wife's death. So, although, Filene never belonged to the Cult of the Living Pharaoh, could she have shared her husband's intense interest in ancient Egyptian religion? As far as we know, nothing in the single story she appeared in supports this. There may have been some interest on her part (after all, she married an Egyptologist). But Filene probably did not share her husband's interests enough to classify her as a devotee of ancient Egyptian religion, which is regarded as backward, superstitious paganism by most contemporary Egyptians. "Abdol" is usually a Muslim name, even among people living outside of Egypt, and nearly all Egyptians are Muslim. So it seems most likely (but needs to be confirmed) that Salome was at least nominally Muslim. Her husband (from whom she obtained the "Abdol" surname) probably had at least a nominally Muslim background as well, before he was found by the Egyptian-born villain Apocalypse.
