The Pixiu had violated a law of Heaven, so the Chinese deity punished it by restricting its diet to gold. Mister Qui was one of ten Chosen Ones who climbed the Xian Ghost Mountain and stole the Pixiu egg. Qui was the last survivor of this group. He used the now-grown Pixiu to help Colleen Wing and the Heroes for Hire locate the fugitive Captain America.
