When the villainous Reptile (who was actually Chloe's own husband) targeted her for death, she was saved by the original android Human Torch and sidekick, Toro. Although this was naturally a disastrous situation for Chloe's marriage, she had something of a happy ending when she realized that her friend Gus (a fellow land owner) truly loved her. Gus had earlier been suspected of being the Reptile because Chloe had spurned his affections. Thus, after Chloe's husband Webster was unmasked as the Reptile, there was hope for a happy relationship between Chloe and Gus. (Presumably this could commence after Chloe legally divorced her now-incarcerated husband.)
