Walter Krantz was the author of the original "Coppherhead" pulp fiction stories. Many years after creating the Copperhead character, he was killed by Copperhead!
The killer was actually Lawrence Chesney, the son of the man who originally posed for paintings of the Copperhead character. Lawrence Chesney began posing as the Copperhead character.
