Godstalker is an artificial construct created by the powerful, enigmatic "space gods" known as the Celestials. Godstalker was empowered with considerable cosmic energy.

At least on one occasion, Godstalker literally stalked and captured gods - beings that worshiped by alien races. This was when abducted Veeda Leebre, the spiritual leader worshiped (or perhaps venerated) by the residents of Carmondy IV.

Loosely speaking, if the Celestials are to be regarded as "gods" (and many alien races do regard them as such), then Godstalker could said to be an "angel." Certainly Godstalker was imbued with great power, making it as powerful (or moreso) than many actual Heavenly angels seen in the Marvel Universe.
