Meta was a member of the new incarnation of Workforce that first appeared in Legionnaires #81 (Mar. 2000). Other new Workforce members introduced at the time were Repulse, Amber, and Dune.
Meta set off a shockwave in the stargate which almost became a black hole.
Meta was presumably vaporized in the accident and was not seen again. In fact, apparently Meta didn't even appear "on-panel," but was merely mentioned in reference to this major accident. Amber, Dune and Repulse, on the other hand, were actually seen in Legionnaires #81 (Mar. 2000) and showed up later in Legion of Super-Heroes (vol. 4) #125.
