Analog to Grinch (the Dr. Seus character) in a Thor Christmas story.

Groonk is an interesting villain in some respects because he is a Thor villain whose story is tied into a Christmas story. Groonk was a protector of a group of homeless people living beneath New York City. Groonk stole Christmas presents for the homeless people he lived with. He ended up battling Thor, who defeated him. Thor was convinced by Groonk's friends to not arrest him.

The Groonk was presumably a Morlock, a member of the group of outcast mutants who lived beneath New York City streets. The Groonk stole Christmas presents for homeless people living in sewers - in underground areas below New York City.
