Tyrone McQuaid was a professional criminal who had trained with and apparently worked for the Taskmaster. When Tyrone McQuaid reformed and wanted to "go straight," he left the Taskmaster's organization. But the Taskmaster wanted to kill Tyrone McQuaid for desertion. Tyrone McQuaid sought out the help of a local super-hero: the Falcon, who saved him from the Taskmaster.
