Division U was dedicated to studying and capturing the Uni-Power, which is the galactic cosmic power responsible for transforming individuals temporarily into the heroic Captain Universe. Coffin was a field agent for Division U, a member of the "Wraith Squad." Coffin and the other Wraith Squad agents failed to capture Captain Universe when Roland Taylor was the host for the Uni-Power.

At least two people from the Coffin family (Ray Coffin and Steve Coffin have been human hosts of the Uni-Power. Their connection to the Wraith Squad agent named Coffin is not yet clear to us. But it is reasonable to assume that there is a connection.
