We would need to carefully read this story to be certain, but we are presuming that Taran, the High Priestess of the Peru-based religious group known as the Snake Clan, was raised in this faith. If this is indeed the case, then her parents (who are minor characters in this story) would also be members of the Snake Clan. If, as is common in groups such as this, religious leadership is passed from parents to children, then it is possible that one or both of Taran's parents were, in fact, Snake Clan religious leaders themselves. However, if Taran is a convert to the Snake Clan, then it is possible that her parents were not members. From what we can glean from available commentary, however, this scenario is highly unlikely. Taran does indeed seem to be a woman who was raised since birth in this mysterious religious group/tribe deep in Perus' jungles.
