Note: Scimitar of Ra-Mon-Beth summoned by Azaziah to kill Pope

The villainous sorcerer Azaziah Hornsby (a.k.a. the "Crimson Mage") summoned the "Scimitar of Ra-Mon-Beth" from the netherworld in order to use it in a ritual to sacrifice the Pope of the Catholic Church. The noble Johnny Blaze managed to get the Scimitar and use it to destroy Azaziah before he could complete the ceremony, however. Johnny Blaze thus saved the Pope's life.

Ra-Mon-Beth is never actually seen in this (or any other) story, but the Scimitar is featured prominently. Ra-Mon-Beth is presumably a mystic entity, quite possibly a powerful demon. Azaziah had a penchant for obtaining power from demons. But accounts of this story specifically refer to the Scimitar as "mystical" and not "demonic." The distinction may be irrelevant. But because of this, and more importantly, because Ra-Mon-Beth is only mentioned and not seen, we have classified "Ra-Mon-Beth" in the "mystic entity invoked" section rather than in the "demons" section.

Realistically, all "mystic entities invoked" can probably be classified as "demons," although some of them would be regarded as "gods" or "deities" by the individuals invoking them. One distinction between a "mystic entity invoked" and a "god" or "deity" is that entities classified as "mystic entities invoked" are typically invoked or utilized a source of power, such as for performing a spell, and are typically not a deity actually worshiped or regularly venerated by the invoker.
