In panel 4 on page 10 of this story Dick Grayson told Bruce Wayne, "Here I was looking forward to taking Nancy to the Prom tonight . . . But with The Outsider hounding us, I--"

Robin really wanted to go to his high school Prom dance with Nancy, but the Outsider seemed so dangerous that he wanted to help look for the dangerous adversary. But Bruce Wayne told Dick to go ahead. Bruce told his ward, "The Outsider has us in a dangerous spot . . . but we can't let that rule our lives -- allow ourselves to become slaves to his menace! So youkeep that date, Robin!"

Dick Grayson did indeed go to the dance. On page 15 he returned and told Bruce that during the dance he had thought about the Outside case and figured out a way to defeat their foe. Apparently Nancy did not completely occupy the young hero's thoughts during the event.

One might also note that as early as Dick Grayson came home after Prom, and based on his description of the night, it is clear that he and Nancy spent nothing but a very respectful, honorable, and chaste evening together. For readers in more recent generations (especially those who are relatively ignorant of the mores and morals of the past), "teenagers" and "high school proms" may have certain implications. But young Dick Grayson of 1965 was a very moral, upstanding young man - even on prom night.
