Zemu was the leader of the R'Zahnians, aliens from R'Zahn who wanted to take over the world. Zemu had a particularly unusual strategy for doing so. He posed as an Earthling working as a stage magician. He was immensely popular as a stage magician, and used this popularity a springboard to run for governor. But Doctor Droom (the earlier name of Dr. Druid) discovered Zemu's plot and hypnotized the villainous alien into revealing the truth about himself. On Zemu's planet are popular stage magicians often elected to high state offices?
