In panel 5 on page 8 of "Genius of the Getaway Gimmicks!" in Batman #170 (Mar. 1965), the story's featured villain is stealing valuable chess sets and thinks: "These sets are worth fortunes! Some are made of gold, some of platinum! Some belonged to historical personages like Napoleon and Bismarck!"
Avengers West Coast #61 depicts an alternative history Earth on which Napoleon won his war. Napoleon successfully invaded Russia in that timeline. The time-traveling villain Immortus wiped out this reality.
