Mr. and Mrs. Truxton were wealthy friends or associates of Bruce Wayne. They attended a charity auction that Bruce Wayne held on his yacht Water Baby. The event was a benefit for the Alfred Foundation, a charitable foundation Wayne had established in honor of his butler Alfred, who at that time was thought to be dead. Wayne had told people that Batman himself would be making an appearance at the event.
In panel 1 on page 5 of ths story, Bruce Wayne greeted the Truxtons as they boarded the yacht, saying, "Mr. and Mrs. Truxton -- welcome aboard!"
One of the Truxtons (probably Mrs. Truxton) said, "I can't wait to meet that marvelous Batman!"
In the next panel (panel 2 on page 5), some time has passed, but the elderly couple in the forefront of the crowd being addressed by Bruce Wayne may well be the Truxtons. The narrative caption reads: "As the vessel lifts anchor and moves out of Gotham Harbor . . ."
Bruce Wayne, wearing a white tuxedo addresses the assembled guests, saying, "Batman is due here at ten o'clock -- just a few moments from now -- and we'll begin the auction then! Meanwhile, please enjoy yourselves!"
Only three guests (including, presumably, the Truxtons) can be seen at the right edge of this panel. In later panels many more guests are seen.
