After Winslow Schott, the original Superman villain known as "Toyman", retired, a small-time criminal named Jack Nimball adopted Schott's name and modus operandi. Nimball menaced Superman, who actually teamed up with Schott himself to defeat Nimball in one early encounter.

Winslow Schott eventually decided to return to his evil ways, come out of retirement, and resume his career as Toyman. One of the first things he did after resuming his super-villainous career was murder his self-appointed successor, Jack Nimball. Thus, Jack Nimball's ignomious career as "Toyman" was rather short-lived.

The "Toyman" who appeared in the animated TV series "Challenge of the Super Friends" was based on the second DC Comics Toyman, Jack Nimball.

The Jack Nimball version of Toyman only appeared in 4 DC comics, but he appeared in at least 9 episodes of "Challenge of the Super Friends."
