A beautiful but unnamed lounge singer was featured for nearly two full pages in Action Comics #6 (pages 5-6). This is a somewhat unusual scene in that the performance of the entire song is depicted. Great care was obviously taken to illustrate this alluring singer.

The singer performs at a night club that Clark Kent brings Lois Lane to. The narration describes the place as a "famous night-spot" and it certainly looks up-scale.

The red-headed singer wears a backless, sleeveless green dress. The narration describes: "A singer strolls onto the floor, accompanied by tumultuous applause."

The singer introduces her number: "Thanks, everyone! Tonight I'm going to introduce a song that is sure to be a great hit. Its title: 'You're a Superman!' -- Swing it, boys!"

Hearing this introduction, Lois Lane expresses her surprise: "Good Heavens! Now they've composed a song about him!"

Clark Kent's face suggests he is interested but perhaps a little annoyed. He may be withholding judgment about the song about his secret identity until he actually hears it: "This promises to be interesting!"

The song:
You're a Superman!
You can make my heart leap,
Ten thousand feet!

You're a Superman!
But I'm the one gal who kin,
Get under your skin!

When you crush me in your arms,
I just reveal,
I'm only flesh and blood and not resistless steel!

You're a Superman!
Your ardor's stronger than
A human man's!

You're a Superman!
And when you spring to me,
I am in ecstasy!

Some day you're gonna leap,
To the altar at my feet . . .
Then the whole world will know,
'Cause I'll tell all I know,
That you're my Superman!

The singer must have been quite talented, or at least talented enough to stir up Lois Lane's feelings about Superman. As the song ended, Clark looked at Lois Lane. The narration describes: "Clark glances sidewise at Lois. Enthralled by the magic of the song, her eyes have a distant, charmed look . . ."
