An unnamed female investor purchased shares in the Black Gold Oil Well. While investigating a case, Clark Kent learned that the corrupt brokers Meek and Bronson sold worthless oil shares to many investors. Clark Kent purchased the shares so that the investors actually made a profit. Cark Kent (who presented himself as "Homer Ramsey") used his own savings to buy the shares even though he knew they were worthless, as part of his plan to take down the crooked brokers and help out the innocent people they tried to defraud. This investor, an older woman perhaps in her fifties, told Clark, "You don't know how happy this makes me! I thought I'd lost every cent!"
