Father Nicholas aided the heroic vampire hunter Blade in traveling to Castle Dracula. But the priest was then decapitated by Dracula.

We have not yet read this story. Much of it takes place in Transylvania, where Dracula's castle is located. Transylvania is in the country of Romania, where the predominant religion is Romanian Orthodox, a branch of Eastern Orthodoxy. Often religious clergy in stories that take place in Romania are Romanian Orthodox. But from what we have read about this story, Father Nicholas accompanied Blade on his journey from the beginning, from outside Romania, and was not a local priest. (In any case, there are many Catholics in Romania. In fact, the real-life Dracula himself was a convert from Romanian Orthodoxy to Catholicism, before he became a vampire.) As far as we can ascertain, Father Nicholas is indeed intended to be a Catholic priest.
