The Forever Man was reincarnated repeatedly through many, many lives. A prophecy said that he could continue this cycle endlessly and could only die permanently when he met a dead man. In each new life, the Forever Man was identifiable by a crescent-shaped mark on his right cheek. The prophecy was finally fulfilled when the Forever Man met Dracula, an undead (i.e., already dead) vampire. Then the Forever Man lapsed into a permanent coma.
