Mr. Nelson, an attorney at the Nelson and Lassiter law firm, represented Morton Carling, an heir to $20 million. In a bid to get at Carling's money, Nelson's law partner Mr. Lassiter hired assassins to murder Carling and Nelson. It was Lassiter's plan to blame the murder of Carling on Nelson. Fortunately, Superman and Lois Lane investigated Carling's murder and eventually uncovered Lassiter's plot just in time to save Nelson's life.
