Garth was previously an agent of Black Talon, a Vodoun houngan. Later he allied himself with She-Hulk for a short time. He is identified as someone who might be a zombie. Based on this association with Black Talon and his possible "zombie" status, it seems clear that he himself was an adherent of Vodoun.
At least one source identifies this "Garth" as the "Garth" who was the boyfriend of Selena Slate, the laboratory assistant who became the Sleepwalker villainess "Spectra." We believe this linkage is erroneous, and that Selana Slate's boyfriend "Garth" is a different character. Some further research may be necessary to verify this.
