Zzord was an artificial life form (robot) created by a Skrull to be an improvement on Dragon Man, a well-known artificial life form that had been used to combat the Fantastic Four and other Earth heroes. Zoord was not actually superior to Dragon Man, however. Dragon Man itself was able to destroy Zzord.
