In modern times, descendants of ancient followers of the ancient Canaanite deity Ba'al used the Gehenna Stone to reincarnate their god within the chosen vessel: Sa-bal-bal. The Ba'al follower known only as Sa-bal-bal was a descendant of Ba'al, or perhaps a descendant of Ba'al's ancient followers. Naturally Ba'al and his followers wanted to take over the world, but they were thwarted by Wolverine, who prayed sincerely and called on the power of the Ba'al's ancient enemy, the Abrahamic God, to defeat them.
