Lorna Dane was an actress who worked on the remake of the horror film "Dreadcastle." Her fellow cast-member on the film was actress Julie Madison, the fiance of Bruce Wayne (who was secretly Batman). Lorna Dane was murdered by a mysterious masked man originally known only as "Clayface." It was later discovered that Clayface was really Basil Karlo, the star of the original version of "Dreadcastle."

Interestingly enough, DC Comics character Lorna Dane has the exact same name as a far more famous Marvel character. The real name of the mutant super-heroine known as "Polaris" is also "Lorna Dane."
