Van Peyson was never actually seen in this story. The Van Peyson Apartment was mentioned, however, and was the setting for the scene that took place on page 10. Crime boss Big Boy Daniels sent some of his criminal gang to rob the safe at the Van Peyson Apartment. Robin was present (working undercover) when Daniels made this assignment. Thus Batman was able to be present when the criminals broke in. Batman defeated and apprehended the criminals.
