Lawrence McKenzie was the son of Leonard McKenzie, the ship's captain best known as the father of the famed half-Atlantean prince and super-hero Namor, the Sub-Mariner. Lawrence was only Namor's half-brother and did not share his famous half-brother's Atlantean heritage. Lawrence McKenzie's own son, Leon McKenzie, gained some notoriety of his own as the super-villain Black Moray, an enemy of Namor's.
