As peculiar as it may seem, injured Danny Moore actually did work for a newspaper named the Daily Bugle. In panel 8 on page 6 in this story, the newspaper the newsboy worked for ran a story about the incident under the following headline: "Newsboy Crippled by Speeding Car: 'Hit and Run' Driver Speeds from Scene of Crime." The article began: "The cowardly driver of the car that crippled poor Danny Moore, a newsboy, ought to be..."
The masthead on this newspaper clearly displays the newspaper's name: Daily Bugle.
What is somewhat amusing about this to anybody with even a passing knowledge of super-hero comics is that the Daily Bugle is the name of the newspaper Spider-Man's works at in his alter ego, Peter Parker. Spider-Man and the Daily Bugle are icons of DC Comics rival Marvel Comics. But apparently DC Comics' Gotham City has its own Daily Bugle as well, or at least it did in this story, published in 1941, twenty-one years before the introduction of Spider-Man.
