After the flaming super-hero known as Toro was murdered by the villainous Mad Thinker, Toro's widow Ann Raymond re-married. Later, unbeknownst to Ann, Toro was brought back to life by Bucky Barnes and the Cosmic Cube. The opening scene in The Torch #1 (Nov. 2009), a story which focuses on the resurrected Toro, depicts Toro outside the home of his former wife. Toro observes with sadness as Ann sits on a couch with her arms around her new husband. Toro does not interrupt the scene. He feels that his former life is completely gone, and he wonders if he any longer has any purpose.
We believe that Ann Raymond's second husband first appeared in The Torch #1 (Nov. 2009), but we are not absolutely certain about this.
