Lester Drake killed Barrie Richards - a man who inherited a gold mine - because the man refused to use the local African natives as slave laborers. Drake thought nothing of using the Africans as slaves to gold mine. The local tribal chief enlisted the help of Ka-Zar to deal with the situation. Ka-Zar the Great (a.k.a. David Rand) thwarted Drake's villainy. The villainous Lester Drake died at the end of the story.
