Approximately 500 years ago, the Cold People received technology from a Tibetan monk (known as the Master) which transformed them into human form. The Cold People regarded the Master as their spiritual/religious leader.
Ternak was the leader of the Cold People for a time. But he was tyrannical and bent on conquest. His teachings were opposite those of the peaceful Master and went agains the peaceful ways the Cold People had followed for so long. Ternak led a faction of the Cold People in an attack on outsiders. His efforts were thwarted by the Fantastic Four.
