Note: Lois and Clark were shipwrecked on an island of Amazons
A tribe of Amazons hailed Lois Lane as their queen when they thought she pulled a sword from a stone.
This island and its inhabitants may be related to the famous Paradise Island of Wonder Woman fame. But it does not appear to be the same island.
The Amazons featured in this story clearly have a distinctive religious culture. They come to believe that Lois Lane is a legendary queen, after seeing her pull a sword from a stone. (Superman had loosened the sword first.) The Amazons believe the sword is magical.
Lois Lane was dressed as the Greco-Roman god Mars (as part of a costume contest) when she was shipwrecked on this island. It is not entirely clear that the religion of these Amazons is derived from Greco-Roman classical religion. This seems the most likely religious background for them, however, given how they responded to Lois as "Mars" and given the similarities between their island and Wonder Woman's overtly Greco-Roman Paradise Island.
