The Adversary was featured in an issue of Fables titled "Remembrance Day." The story also featured a number of characters from classic fairy tales, including Beauty and the Beast, Prince Charming, Snow White, King Cole, Pinocchio, Bluebeard, Jack of the Beanstalk and Cinderella. All of these characters and more regard the Adversary as an enemy because he invaded their kingdoms and drove them out. This is key part of the origin of the situation featured in the Fables series.
