Nate Thurman was a rogue agent who was part of a group who wanted to punish war criminals they believed had been let off too easy. Part of Nate's motivation was the fact that his own brother, George C. Thurman, had been captured, tortured and murdered by one of these war criminals: Dmitry Panshin. Nate plotted with other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to go after Panshin. But ultimately Nate Thurman turned agains Tom Gittes (leader of the rogue agents) when Gittes tried to shoot Captain America.
