David Daily was a film student studying at an unidentified university. He came from a very wealthy background.

For unknown reasons, a Sleepwalker took up residence in Daily's mind. This Sleepwalker belonged to the same race as the far more famous "Sleepwalker" whose human host was Rick Sheridan. The Sleepwalker who resided in David Daily's mind may have been trapped there unintentionally, or he may have taken up residence there of his own volition.

Details such as this were never revealed, however. The new "Sleepwalker" series that had been planned, which was to be centered on David Daily, was canceled before it ever launched. The first issue was published as one of three stories in Epic Anthology #1.
