This unidentified Sleepwalker belongs to the same race of aliens (known as "Sleepwalkers") that the title character of the original Sleepwalker series belongs to. That Sleepwalker is far better known, as his exploits while residing in the mind of human host Rick Sheridan were chronicled for many issues. The motivations and background of this new, unnamed Sleepwalker were never revealed.

As is the case with Rick Sheridan's Sleepwalker, the Sleepwalker who resided in David Daily's mind could only escape into the physical world when Daily was sleeping. Unlike Sheridan's Sleepwalker, Daily's Sleepwalker did not manifest himself in his host's dreams. Whether or not he was able to do so and simply chose not to, or could not actually do this, was never revealed.
