A group of aliens was coming -- apparently for many generations -- to the deeply forested Pine Barrens of New Jersey. They hunted there, mostly killing wild animals, but also killing humans.
The specific race these fearsome-looking aliens belonged to was never named. They were known on Earth to the few who knew about them simply as "The Visitors."
These aliens killed many humans in their time in the Pine Barrens. These aliens were the source of an urban legend about the "Jersey Devil."
When the Fantastic Four took Franklin Richards and four of his friends camping in the Pine Barrens, they encountered these aliens and were ultimately able to drive them away.
A local human man named Mr. Williams kept the aliens a secret for a long time. After the Invisible Woman threatened to expose Mr. Williams' actions, he committed suicide.
