Jacob was a recent film school graduate who met the Fantastic Four while making a film in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. Jacob and his filmmaking partner Jeff foolishly entered an alien spaceship (belonging to the murderous Visitors) to do some filming. While they were inside the craft, Jacob asked Jeff: "And there's tape in the camera? ('cause remember at my brother's Bar Mitzvah you forgot to put a tape in the camera?)"
