The Wakers were a small group of deep penetration agents which were genetically engineered by A.I.M. Monica Rappaccini, an AIM scientist, was apparently one of the main people involved in developing the Wakers.

The Wakers were people who were engineered to be resistant to all poisons, including all chemical, biological and nuclear weapons.

The best known Waker is Carmilla Black, also known as "Scorpion." She rebelled against A.I.M., however. Another named member of the Wakers group is known only as "4."
