An implanted false memory and false records temporarily led Steve Rogers to believe that he was from Sayville, Maryland, where he was the son of Walter and Elizabeth Rogers, and that he had a brother named Mike Rogers who died during the WWII Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. These were real people. But Captain America's memories and records showing him to be a part of this family were later shown to be false in Captain America #247 as well as Captain America #255.
