Keener worked as a communications officer for the Serpent Society.

Keener was on duty and took Anaconda's call when she called in to tell Society leader King Cobra that she, Puff Adder and Rock Python had triumphed over their long-time enemy: Captain America.

Is it possible that Keener is not really a distinct character, but is really just Serpent Society member Coachwhip (Beatrix Keener) identifying herself by her last name? This story needs to be read carefully to determine if that is a possibility. Although there are some secondary sources that identify Keener as a distinct character, this may simply be a mistake made by archivists forgetting Coachwhip's surname.
