Bob was a TV anchor on CNN who reported that high-ranking Defense Department undersecretary Ozzie Bright had been attacked by ants. When Captain America saw this news broadcast, he realized that the Ozzie Bright he knew was actually a Chitauri spy who had killed and replaced the original Ozzie Bright.

Bob then interviewed Doctor Leslie Armentrout, a scientist with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention who specialized in tracking attacks by venemous insects.

Bob's name was revealed on page 222 in the novel The Ultimates: Against All Enemies, when Dr. Armentrout answered a question he asked by addressing him by name, saying, "Well, Bob, there's no question that there's been an uptick in the number of serious ant-sting incidents..."
