Athos was a bodyguard who worked on the estate of Ambassador Hugo Natchios, the father of the girl who would grow up to become the assassin Elektra.
Athos served as a bodyguard for Hugo Natchios himself. Athos was working as a bodyguard for Hugo Natchios on the night that the ambassador was murdered by six armed terrorists who invaded the Natchios compound. Athos felt great guilt about what happened that night. He felt that he had failed Hugo Natchios. That incident caused serious injuries to him (Athos). Athos lost an eye and a leg. From then on he wore an eye patch over his ruined eye and walked with the aid of a crutch.
After the ambassador's death, Athos worked as bodyguard for Elektra, although he felt unworthy of doing so. He felt indebted to her and wanted to serve her in any way that he could.
Athos was a friend of Stavros, the estate's gardner and de facto bodyguard for young Elektra.
