Lou (also referred to as "Louie") and Bobbie (also referred to as "Bobbie") are two friends who know each other well and are walking together in the subway. One of them is blonde. The other has black hair.
It may seem as though there are inconsistencies in how they are identified. In one panel the man with black hair is referred to by his friend as "Louie," and the man with blonde hair is referred to as "Bobbie." In another panel the man with black hair is referred to as "Bobby." In another panel, the man with black hair is referred to as "Lou." But, really, the names are consistent if one accepts "Louie" and "Lou" as variations of the same name, accepts "Bobbie" and "Bobby" as variations of the same name, and imagines that one panel's word balloon ("Trust me, Bobby...") is pointing slightly to the left of where it appears to be pointing, so that it is being spoken by the man with black hair (mostly off-panel) rather than the man with blonde hair. Or perhaps more likely: The man with black hair has his hair incorrectly colored blonde in that panel. Which would mean the man with black hair is always referred to as "Lou," but his hair (which is short) is incorrectly colored blonde in one panel. Bobbie's hair is long. Also, you can look at the positioning of their hands, and see that it is consistent.
