Donna Lopez was one of the "house-ladies" (prostitutes) who worked at a brothel in New York City.
Early in Daredevil's career, this same brothel was the scene of a tragic accident. Daredevil had followed a dangerous criminal named Angelo into the brothel. A number of prostitutes working there attacked and grabbed the fledgeling Daredevil. He thrashed about, trying to get free, and one of the women flew and a window and fell to her death. (It was only revealed years later that the woman was in fact Mary Walker, who survived and became the villain Typhoid Mary.)
Years later, Daredevil suffered a psychotic break in which his personality was shattered. His old mentor Stick and other close friends helped him out of this and helped him realize that part of the reason for his current problems were his guilt over the incident in which the prostitute "died."
Daredevil returned to the brothel and asked about what the women working there now knew about the incident and about the woman who "died." One of the women who answered Daredevil's questions was Donna Lopez.
After Stick and the Chaste helped Matt Murdock/Daredevil better recover from his psychotic personality break and move foreward with his life, Daredevil returned to the brothel. He gave Donna Lopez enough money that she would be able to leave the prostitution trade, leave New York City, and start a new life. Doing this was something Daredevil did to atone in part for what he had done there years before.
