We have not yet ascertained the precise identity of a character named "Bast" which one source identifies as appearing in this issue. "Bast" is the name of an African and Egyptian traditional deity. In the Marvel Universe, "Bast" is the name of the Panther God worshiped in Wakanda. But within the context of this story, it seems unlikely that "Bast" the Panther God is the "Bast" who makes an appearance in this story. Until such time as this can be researched further, we are assuming that the "Bast" who appears in this issue is somebody different than that.
