Frankie was an innocent bystander who was severely injured during a fierce battle between Prototype and the super-villain Arena.
Frankie's body was rebuilt by the terrorist corporation Terrordyne, Inc. The healed and technologically-empowered Frankie became known as Battlewagon.
As "Battlewagon," Frankie fought Prototype, who was really his old friend, Jimmy Ruiz.
