Doctor Allen - the family doctor for the Russells - treated Jack Russell after he was shot by a police officer when he first transformed into a werewolf (the "Werewolf By Night").
At the request of Philip Russell (Jack's step-father), Doctor Allen administered a strong sedative to Jack. Just before he lost consciousness, Jack overheard his step-father talking to Max Grant, the family chauffeur. Jack heard the two of them agreeing to meet in secret at an abandoned warehouse. Jack lost consciousness due to the sedative before he could hear more.
