Mark Cephalos was a dwarf who transformed his diminutive body into a far more powerful body.
Mark Cephalos wanted more power. When he learned that a werewolf had been seen in the Los Angeles area, he hatched a plan. he captured Jack Russell (a.k.a. "Werewolf By Night") and siphoned power from Jack's transformation into a werewolf.
The process Cephalos used to transform his dwarf body in to a large muscular body also accelerated his aging. Cephalos was hoping to use energy from Jack's werewolf transformation to reverse this rapid aging side effect.
Mark Cephalos first appeared and died in the same issue.
